What exactly is Laurent-Perrier Champagne?
Laurent-Perrier is an elegant champagne brand that is well-known for products with natural freshness and finesse. The champagne brands are always fulfilling, gentle, and soft. The Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne, by the first family owned the distillery. Mathilde Emilie Perrier, Eugene Laurent’s widow, named this distillery ‘Laurent-Perrier’ which was a combination of their family names. In 1939, Perrier’s daughter sold the distillery to Marie-Louise de Nonsncourt, who ran the business as her children joined the French Resistance.
Laurent-Perrier was built around four strong convictions that included innovation, quality Chardonnay grapes, a unique style, and blending. The company only blends quality grapes in the production of all its champagnes.
The Laurent-Perrier style is inspired by Chardonnay. The vineyards of Champagne are grown in three different places south of the city of Reims. The Chardonnay grapes are grown at the chalky slopes of the ‘Cote des Blancs’ in Epernay. The second grape used for the production is Pinot Noir which is grown at Montage de Reims. The Pinot Meunier grape is grown in the ‘Vallee de la Marne,’ which is able to withstand frost.
Laurent-Perrier is delicate yet complex and largely pale gold. The champagnes have hints of white fruits and citrus. The brands are fresh and easy on the palate, with honeysuckle, creamy mousse, citrus, and ripe peach. The finish is slightly toasty, well-balanced, and has a fresh acidity that graces the taste buds.
